The last two days I've been sorting through all this crap and looking through old sketchbooks. It is totally clear how valuable sketching and freedom to experiment are in art making. Maybe in the new year I can bring some of this playfulness back a couple times a week in some work that doesn't bring any pressure but hopefully surprises.

I've been looking at David Hockney's photocollages for the last couple of months and here's my little attempt at showing off my end of the year madness as I try and downsize / organize for the new year!

The spoiled dog!

A couple more pages for the Beaverton coloring book. I'm finally finished. It was a lot of work! I think sixteen drawings in all. But the experience was worth it and I've learned quite a few tricks in photoshop and with the drawing tablet that the last drawings went a lot quicker!

A loose watercolor, I liked the way the paint sort of crystallized.
